The traffic accident occurred on February 8, around 10:10 p.m., on the Kyiv-Chop highway in the village of Zapytiv, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Citroen Berlingo, a 26-year-old resident of Novy Rozdol, lost control, drove into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Mercedes Actros truck driven by a 56-year-old resident of the Poltava region.
The Citroen driver died at the scene of the injuries he received as a result of the accident.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
