“You are worried about the bank’s security service”: Lviv police officers warn how not to become victims of bank card fraud

If unknown persons call you, calling themselves bank employees and demanding to provide card account data, immediately call the police on the emergency line 102.

The police warn again: in order not to become a victim of fraud, in no case do not provide your personal data, bank card number and expiration date, PIN code, CVV2/CVC2 codes, Internet banking passwords, code word or other information to unknown persons, even if they are called bank employees. Remember: bank employees never call and ask for bank account or card information.

Also, do not respond to SMS messages purporting to be from the bank – this way, criminals gain access to your bank accounts, from where they withdraw all savings, transferring them to controlled bank accounts.

If you receive calls or SMS messages, call the bank (the hotline number is indicated on your card or on the official websites of the banks), and immediately contact the police at number 102. Do not be deceived!
