In the Lviv region, the police are carrying out a set of operational measures to reduce the level of accidents and injuries to people on highways.
Employees of the response groups of the patrol police and police officers of the police communities of the Lviv Region, as well as employees of the Department of the Patrol Police in the Lviv Region are close to the most dangerous sections of roads, as well as preschools and educational institutions. Police officers detect violations of the Traffic Rules by pedestrians, and also explain to citizens the rules of safe behavior on the roads. In addition, juvenile police officers visit educational institutions and explain traffic rules to children.
In general, since the beginning of September, 749 traffic accidents have been registered on the highways of Lviv and the region, of which 137 were injured. In less than a month, 15 people died in road accidents, and another 138 received injuries of varying degrees of severity.
During this period, 31 traffic accidents involving children were registered, of which 26 involved victims, in which 38 children were injured.
The law enforcement officers once again appeal to all road users: be as attentive and careful as possible on the roads, strictly follow the Traffic Rules!
Do not drive vehicles while intoxicated, do not exceed the speed limit, do not violate the rules of intersections and pedestrian crossings, do not make dangerous maneuvers, and also use seat belts and motorcycle helmets, and follow the rules for transporting children.
