The court found a citizen of Ukraine guilty of participating in a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. As part of a special trial, the latter was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved in court that a resident of Luhansk, with the call sign “Botsman”, in the period 2014-2018, commanded a platoon of a flamethrower company of a separate guards motorized rifle brigade named after Voroshilov of the so-called People’s Militia of the People’s Republic of China provided fire cover for subversive and reconnaissance groups and directly fired at the positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For “special services” to the terrorists in 2016, the convict was assigned to carry the so-called victory flag at the May 9 parade in Luhansk.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.
