Bucovina Soldier Accused of Smuggling Men

A soldier in Bukovina has been exposed for organizing an illegal channel to smuggle men to Europe with an accomplice.

Investigations revealed that a resident of Bukovina identified individuals willing to illegally cross the border and transported them to a gas station. There, they would switch to a military vehicle, and the soldier, who was familiar with the patrol routes and the area near the border with Romania, would navigate.

Later, the accomplices would deliver the clients to a forest strip, point them in the direction of the border, and provide tools to cut through the fence. The price for these services ranged from 3,000 to 10,000 euros per person.

The organizers were detained during an attempted smuggling operation, as per Art. 615 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They have been charged under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and prosecutors have chosen preventive measures.

The procedural supervision is carried out by the Chernivtsi Specialized Prosecution in the Defense Sphere of the Western Region.
