A serviceman in the Rivne region is suspected of abusing influence for monetary gain.
The investigation established that a 58-year-old instructor from one of the military units promised to help another serviceman obtain a recognition of fitness for rear service. For his ‘services’, he requested 5.5 thousand US dollars, using his connections to influence the members of the military medical commission.
He was detained while receiving 5 thousand US dollars in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He was notified of suspicion for abuse of influence (part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) under the procedural guidance of the Rivne Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defense Sphere of the Western Region.
Prosecutors demanded the imposition of a preventive measure – detention with the possibility of bail exceeding 266 thousand hryvnias. The identification of all individuals who may be involved in this case is ongoing.
