
Police in Lviv region have held accountable the owner of a German Shepherd that bit a child in Mykolaiv.
The report of the dog attacking an eight-year-old boy came to the police from his grandmother, a 49-year-old resident of Mykolaiv, on June 16. Police officers from the patrol response sector of the police department No.2 of the Stryi district police department immediately arrived at the call.
As law enforcement officers established, around 2 pm on Yuri Kanyuk street, a 68-year-old local resident was walking the dog without a leash and muzzle. During this time, a young boy was passing by on a bicycle, and the dog chased after the boy and bit him. Fortunately, the child’s injury was minor.
The police filed an administrative protocol against the German Shepherd’s owner under part 2 of article 154 “Violation of rules for keeping dogs and cats” of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and referred it to the court. The man faces a fine from three to five non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens with confiscation of the animal.
