Traffic Accident in Brody: Car Collision and Consequences
As a result of the car collision in Brody, two drivers were injured – police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Details of the Traffic Accident
The traffic accident occurred on February 27, around 12:30 PM, on Filyvarky Street in the city of Brody, Zolochiv District.
According to preliminary findings by law enforcement, there was a collision between a Renault Twingo driven by a 50-year-old resident of Brody and a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 66-year-old local resident. Subsequently, the Volkswagen Golf was pushed into a parked Citroen Berlingo.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of the Renault Twingo and Volkswagen Golf sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Criminal Proceedings
It was established that the driver of the Renault Twingo was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
On this basis, investigators of Police Department No.1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are determining the circumstances of the event.
