The traffic accident occurred on January 12, around 8:00 p.m., in the village of Medenichi, Drohobytsky District.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Passat, a 44-year-old resident of the Chernivtsi region, lost control and drove into a concrete bridge.
As a result of the accident, the passenger of the car, a 29-year-old resident of Drohobych, received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of Lviv Oblast opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
