The traffic accident occurred on October 24, around 6:00 p.m., on the Lviv-Radehiv highway near Radekhov in the Chervonograd district
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Volvo truck driven by a 52-year-old resident of the Volyn region and a bicycle driven by a 45-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district, after which the two-wheeled vehicle was hit by a DAF truck driven by 44-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi region.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist received bodily injuries, from which he died at the scene.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
