A car driver was injured in a road accident in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The road accident occurred on 20 June, around 21.00, on the Kyiv-Chop motorway in the village of Pisochna, Stryi district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a BMW 320i, a 48-year-old resident of a village in the district, lost control and crashed into a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus driven by a 45-year-old resident of Rivne region, which had stopped at a traffic light.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the car was injured and hospitalised in intensive care.
Investigators of the Stryi District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety). The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
