One person dead and three injured as a result of a traffic accident in the Lviv region – police are determining the circumstances.
The traffic accident occurred on July 28 at around 1:30 AM on the ‘Ternopil-Lviv-Rava-Ruska’ highway near the village of Peremyvky in the Lviv district.
According to preliminary investigations by law enforcement officers, a Minsk motorcycle, driven by a 20-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages, collided with an Infiniti car driven by a 19-year-old resident of Vinnytsia. As a result of the incident, the motorcyclist sustained injuries and died in the hospital despite medical efforts. The Infiniti driver and his two passengers, a 53-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man from Kyiv, were also hospitalized.
Investigators from the police department No.2 of the Lviv District Police Department No.1 have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or transportation operation by persons operating vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article prescribes punishment in the form of imprisonment from three to eight years with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years, or without such deprivation.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are determining the circumstances of the incident.
