The traffic accident occurred on September 21, around 2:00 p.m., on the Kurovychy-Rohatyn highway in the village of Mereshchiv, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, two VAZ-2106 cars, driven by a 44-year-old resident of Ternopil region and a 65-year-old resident of one of the villages of Lviv district, collided.
As a result of the accident, both drivers and six passengers of cars, a 34-year-old resident of the Ternopil region and five residents of the Lviv region: boys aged 3, 12, and 15, a seven-year-old girl and a 38-year-old woman – received physical injuries and were taken to medical institutions .
According to the fact, investigators of police department No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
