The accident occurred on April 26, at about 9:50 p.m., on the Lviv-Shehyni highway near the town of Horodok, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a BMW 320d, a 24-year-old resident of Lviv, lost control and collided with a Volkswagen Arteon driven by a 26-year-old resident of Mostysk, Yavoriv district. After that, the BMW 320d drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Volkswagen Caddy driven by a 39-year-old resident of a village in Yavoriv district.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of the BMW 320d and Volkswagen Caddy, as well as the passenger of the minivan, a 39-year-old resident of a village in Lviv district, were injured and taken to a medical facility.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
