Driver Under Influence Causes Accident in Lviv and Flees
Last night, patrol officers received a call about an accident at the intersection of Dolishnya and Lychakivska streets. There, a driver of a Peugeot Partner hit a road sign. After the incident, he drove off in the direction of Vynnyky city.
Apprehension of the Offender
A crew that was patrolling in the mentioned city received the alert. Police officers set out to intercept the fugitive. They stopped the offender, who showed signs of alcohol intoxication. He refused to undergo testing.
Consequences for the Driver
The 45-year-old driver did not have the appropriate category for operating such a vehicle, for which he received a fine. Additionally, three protocols were drawn up against him — for driving under the influence, for causing the accident, and for fleeing the scene. The driver was barred from operating a vehicle.
