Fire Hazard in Lviv Region: Residents Must Exercise Caution

Residents of Lviv Region are cautioned due to an increased fire hazard, which will persist until 18 May. According to the Lviv Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology, a high fire hazard (class 4) is expected in certain areas, while in the northern districts, an extreme hazard (class 5) is possible.

Dry and windy weather sets the conditions for rapid fire spread, which can affect forests, dry vegetation, and peatlands. Extinguishing such fires is difficult, and their consequences pose a serious threat to people and nature.

Rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are strongly urging adherence to safety rules: avoid burning dry grass, do not light fires in forests, and refrain from discarding cigarette butts and matches. If a fire is detected, please contact the Rescue Service immediately at 101.
