Volyn Conductor Tried to Smuggle a Draft Dodger to Poland

A train conductor in Volyn has been exposed for attempting to smuggle a man subject to military service to Poland for 7,000 dollars.

According to the investigation, the conductor of an international passenger train running through the ‘Yagodyn’ checkpoint organized a channel for the illegal transfer of men of draft age to the Republic of Poland. **It has been established** that for 7,000 US dollars, the person involved tried to transport a man in his service compartment who was wanted by the territorial recruitment center and social support and did not have legal grounds to leave Ukraine under martial law.

*To avoid exposure during passport control*, the conductor along with the “dodger” attempted to bribe a border guard with a 5,000 US dollars bribe. However, the border guard reported this to law enforcement officers.

The men were detained, notified of suspicion, and preventative measures were taken. Other possible participants in the criminal scheme are being identified. The procedural guidance is provided by the Volyn Special Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
