January marked the last month in the lives of many heroes from the Stryi community who gave their lives for Ukraine.
Taras Yavorsky (26.07.1974-04.01.2016) was a sergeant and commander of a platoon in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After returning from the combat zone, his health deteriorated. He is buried in the village of Verchany in the Stryi community.
Andriy Hrytsan “Kaptor” (06.09.1991-20.01.2015) served as a machine gunner in the 80th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was one of the “Cyborgs” who defended Donetsk Airport. He is buried in the village of Velyki Didushychi in the Stryi community.
Dmytro Fursov “Kazbek” (07.04.1987-28.01.2021) was a junior lieutenant and senior officer of the special forces unit “Omega” of the National Guard of Ukraine. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Yuriy Uhlovyi (08.04.1969-07.01.2023) died in the area of Opytne in Donetsk region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Taras Lutsyshyn (16.11.1978-17.01.2023) was a captain and platoon commander of the 1st Training Mechanized Company. He is buried in the village of Putyatyntsi in the Rogatyn region.
Roman Shymushovskyi (01.02.1964-16.01.2023) served in the radio-technical units of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Oleksandr Zaiats (25.05.1981-15.01.2023) died during a combat mission in the area of Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka in Donetsk region. He is buried in the village of Hrabovets.
Rostyslav Novitsky (07.02.1975-28.01.2023) was killed near Kreminna in the Luhansk region by an enemy sniper’s bullet. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Andriy Odyniak (29.04.1987-16.01.2023) died from shrapnel wounds in battle in the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Pavlo Bodnar (15.03.1983-17.01.2023) died in the area of Opytne in Donetsk region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Petro Nemesh (16.07.1989-02.02.2024) died from an enemy strike in the area of Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhia region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Vasyl Kravets (27.12.1990-15.02.2024) died during a combat mission near Andriivka in Donetsk region. He is buried in his native village of Verchany.
Vasyl Yanko (01.01.1977-23.01.2024) died during a mortar attack in the area of Bohdanivka in Donetsk region. He is buried in his native village of Oleksychi in the Stryi community.
Andriy Kashchii (13.02.1969-26.01.2024) received fatal injuries in the area of Tabaivka in Kupiansk district. He is buried in the Alley of Glory at the Stryi cemetery.
Oleh Fedoriv (17.03.1990-25.01.2024) died near the settlement of Novoselivske in the Svatove district of Luhansk region. He is buried in the village of Dashava.
Mykhailo Dovhai (22.11.1990-07.01.2024) died near Synkivka in Kharkiv region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory in Stryi.
Stanislav Kachmar (12.04.1994-09.01.2025) died from an enemy attack in Kharkiv region. He is buried in the Alley of Glory in Stryi.
Ivan Opryshko (13.07.1984-10.01.2025) died near the settlement of Cherkaska Porichna in Sudzha district of Kursk region, Russian Federation. He is buried in the village of Zavadiv.
Yuriy Kildyakov (18.04.1995-25.01.2025) died in a road accident while returning home from service leave. He is buried in the Alley of Glory in Stryi.
