In Lviv, on Yuriy Lypy Street, an explosion occurred, causing a fire in a multi-storey building. The body of a 35-year-old man was found at the scene. Initial investigations determined that the fire started after the explosion of a grenade he had stored in his flat.
Rescuers who arrived at the scene discovered another grenade while extinguishing the fire. Now the police and officials from the State Emergency Service are establishing the circumstances of the incident. It is known that investigative authorities have already initiated criminal proceedings under articles related to premeditated murder with the note “accident” and illegal handling of explosives.
A site investigation team, criminologists, detectives from the Lviv regional police, and patrol police officers are actively working at the scene. The causes of the explosion and fire are still being clarified.
