A former teacher of Lviv University has been arrested for attempting to illegally transport a conscription-aged individual across the border.
According to the investigation, the teacher offered to organize the illegal crossing of a resident of the Drohobych region across the state border for 18,000 USD. According to the promised documents, the man was supposedly to serve in a diplomatic role in one of the international organizations, which would allow him to leave Ukraine without hindrance during the state of war.
The receipt of part of the funds – 9,000 USD – was documented as part of a criminal investigation. The arrest was conducted by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department under the guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region.
The former teacher has been notified of the suspicion. A request is being prepared to choose a preventive measure in the form of custody.
