A group of individuals organised a scheme to embezzle funds through procurements for JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya“. Materials needed for gas extraction were purchased by shell companies at market prices, and then repeatedly resold to artificially inflate their value.
These actions led to the price of reagents being inflated by 2-3 times. Eventually, the goods were sold to the state company via tenders at the maximum price. This resulted in losses for JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” exceeding UAH 295 million, as confirmed by a forensic economic examination.
The director of the private company and the official who organised the tender have been notified of suspicion. The issue of selecting precautionary measures is being considered. The crime was unveiled through joint efforts of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Bureau of Economic Security. Efforts to expose corruption continue.
