The Drohobytskyi RVA urges to beware of Internet fraudsters

It was reported there that paid advertisements about payments to residents of the district from international organizations began to appear in the newsfeeds of the “Facebook” social network of the residents of Drohobychchyna.

Stepan Kulinyak, the head of the Drohobytsk District Military Administration, told about it.

“The other day, in the social network “Facebook”, residents of Drohobychnya received paid advertising, allegedly by the Ukrainian national information agency “Ukrinform”, news from the Government portal that “all residents of Drohobychna and the district will receive payments from international organizations” in the news feed, – noted in RVA

It was also reported there that there is no news on the official website of the Government Portal published on June 14, 2023 at 12:33 or on any other day about the payment to the residents of Drohobychchyna.

“The name of the Ukrinform publication page on Facebook is UKRINFORM in capital letters and without spaces. Fraudsters used the phishing method, passing off the profile they needed as an official one. After clicking on the fraudulent link, users are asked to make a payment to purportedly purchase documentation certificates. As a result, fraudsters deduct all funds from the bank card from which the payment was made! We urge you not to follow such links and always check the authenticity of the information! Read news only from official sources!” – emphasized in Chervonograd RVA.

We would also like to add that attackers recently created a fake Facebook page of the head of the Lviv Police Department Maksym Kozytskyi
