A citizen of Ukraine was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for participation in a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) on a public accusation by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors proved in court that since 2014, the man had been doing so-called military service as a platoon commander of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Battalion of the 2nd Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade named after K.E. Voroshilov. 2 of the army corps of the people’s militia of the so-called “LPR”.
At the same time, while in the specified position, the convict went to the line of demarcation of the ATO forces and illegal armed formations, during which, using military equipment, he fired at the positions of the Ukrainian military.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted in absentia by investigators of the SBU Office in Lviv Region.
