The court found the citizen guilty of collaborative activity for maintaining a public accusation by the prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of all property. Also, for 12 years, he is deprived of the right to hold any positions in the state authorities of Ukraine.
Prosecutors proved in court that during the occupation of Volnovakha (Donetsk region) the man got a job in the occupation law enforcement agency.
The occupiers appointed him to serve in the so-called Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Liquidation of the Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Donetsk People’s Republic. He took the position of master of the gas and smoke protection service.
While in a pseudo-position, the convict created conditions for the functioning of newly created illegal law enforcement agencies, thereby ensuring the formation and strengthening of the occupying power of the Russian Federation and the so-called “DNR” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
A special pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation, based on the materials of the SBU Office in Lviv region.
