With the participation of the prosecutors of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, the court of appeal left unchanged the verdict of the court of first instance, which sentenced the resident of Lviv to life imprisonment. He was found guilty of intentional murder and theft (paragraph 13, part 2, article 115, part 1, article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Prosecutors proved in court that in July 2019 in the city of Lviv, the convict drowned his acquaintance in the bathroom.
The day before, the man came to visit the victim. They were drinking alcoholic beverages together when a conflict arose between them.
During the quarrel, the 51-year-old woman went to the bathroom, but did not close the door behind her.
At that moment, the person involved came to her and grabbed her by the head, submerged her under water and held her until she stopped resisting and showing signs of life.
After the crime, the man ransacked his friend’s apartment and stole all valuables and fled the scene.
