The court decision satisfied the lawsuit of prosecutors of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office of the Lviv region. It recognized as illegal the inactivity of the shelter’s balance keeper and obliged to take measures to bring it into proper technical condition.
Prosecutors established that the Brodivska City Council has an anti-radiation shelter on balance. It is located in the building of the People’s House in the village of Ponikovitsa, Zolochiv district. According to the technical characteristics, the building can accommodate 400 people.
We are talking about a warehouse with a total area of almost 350 square meters. m, which is intended for the civilian population.
However, for a long time, the city council, neglecting people’s safety, did not ensure that this premises was brought to a state of readiness. Accordingly, it made it impossible to use it for its intended purpose.
The court supported the validity of the prosecutor’s demands and satisfied the claim in full.
