A man in Lviv region has been detained for illegally transporting people across the border.
The 28-year-old resident of the region organized a scheme for the illegal departure of conscripts, promising a safe escape to the EU for $8,000. He offered briefing, transfer from Lviv to Zakarpattia, and the fabrication of fake documents.
“The suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine while receiving the agreed sum of money,” reports the prosecutor’s office. He has been remanded in custody with the right of bail.
The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Defense Sphere of the Western Region is leading the procedural supervision of the case and is identifying other individuals involved in the crime.
