In the Lviv region over the past 24 hours, firefighters have extinguished 31 fires, of which 24 outbreaks occurred in natural ecosystems. Thanks to the swift actions of the firefighters, 11 buildings were saved from destruction. According to available information, no people were injured as a result of these incidents.
The State Emergency Service notes that fires in ecosystems remain a serious threat, especially in dry and windy weather. Fire spreads rapidly over large areas, destroys vegetation and can spread to residential buildings, farm structures and other facilities.
In addition, firefighters are continuing to extinguish fires in peatlands in the Lviv and Yavoriv districts, where prolonged smouldering is complicating the situation.
Firefighters are urging citizens to strictly follow fire safety rules while in the countryside: do not leave open flames unattended, do not burn dry vegetation and do not provoke fires in ecosystems.
