Over the past 24 hours in Lviv region, 48 fires have been recorded, of which 37 broke out in natural habitats. Thanks to the swift response of firefighters, five buildings, a combine harvester and a stock of firewood were saved.
According to the emergency services, no one was injured as a result of these fires.
State Emergency Service specialists are urging residents of the region to exercise caution with fire, not to burn dry vegetation or rubbish, not to leave open flames unattended and to comply with fire safety regulations. Even a small blaze, they emphasise, can quickly grow into a large-scale fire and pose a threat to people, property and the environment.
