In the Lviv region over the past 24 hours, firefighters extinguished 39 fires, including 29 blazes in natural ecosystems. Thanks to the swift actions of the fire and rescue crews, they managed to prevent five buildings from being destroyed by the flames.
During one of the fires in Drohobych, a man was killed. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the relevant services.
Emergency workers stress that it is far easier to prevent a fire than to deal with its consequences afterwards, and they call on residents of the region to strictly follow fire safety regulations.
In particular, it is forbidden to burn dry vegetation and rubbish, to light campfires in fire-hazardous areas, to leave open flames unattended, or to discard unextinguished matches and cigarette butts. Following these rules will help reduce the risk of fires.
