Over the course of a day, 49 fires were recorded in the territory of the Lviv region, 42 of which broke out in natural ecosystems. Two people were injured as a result of the blazes.
Thanks to the swift work of firefighters, it was possible to rescue 5 people, including one child, as well as 6 buildings and 2 vehicles. This was reported by the regional unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Firefighters urge residents to be careful with fire both at home and in open areas: do not leave electrical appliances switched on and unattended, do not overload the power grid, handle open flames with care, and do not leave candles, stoves or other sources of heat unattended.
They also stress separately the unacceptability of burning dry grass, leaves and plant waste. Such actions can lead to the uncontrolled spread of fire over large areas, as well as the transfer of flames to forested areas, farm buildings and residential properties.
The State Emergency Service reminds people that it is easier to prevent a fire than to deal with its consequences, and calls on everyone to protect themselves, their loved ones and their property. In the event of a fire, you must immediately call 101.
