Law enforcement officers call on all road users to strictly adhere to and comply with the requirements of the Traffic Rules of Ukraine. In particular, do not exceed the permitted and safe speed, rules of the road intersections and maneuvering – save your life and health.
Thus, on June 2, at about 10 am on Chornovil Avenue in Lviv, the driver of a Skoda Fabia, a 28-year-old Lviv resident, hit a cyclist, also a 38-year-old resident of Lviv. As a result of the collision, the cyclist was injured and taken to hospital.
On the same day, at about 5.30 pm, a Citroen car driven by a 30-year-old resident of Yavoriv and a Viper motorcycle driven by a 21-year-old resident of one of the district’s villages collided in the village of Shklo, Yavoriv district. An 18-year-old passenger of the motorcycle was injured in the collision.
In both cases, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Pre-trial investigations are underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the events.
