The police of the Lviv region once again urges drivers not to exceed the permitted speed, to refrain from risky maneuvers and to be careful when approaching intersections and pedestrian crossings. Take care of life and health!
So, on August 7, around 4:30 p.m., the driver of a Mitsubishi ASX car, a 62-year-old resident of Truskavets, ran over a 24-year-old local woman on Truskavetsky Street in Drohobych. As a result of the accident, the woman was injured and taken to the hospital.
Another traffic accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bohuna and Chuprinka streets in Lviv. As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volvo S80 car, a 34-year-old resident of Sambor, hit a 59-year-old local resident. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and hospitalized.
In addition, around 10:30 p.m., the driver of the Spark motorcycle, a 17-year-old local resident, hit a 19-year-old local resident in the village of Dobrosyn, Lviv district. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian and the driver of the two-wheeler were injured and taken to medical facilities.
Based on these facts, the investigators of the territorial units of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
