Thanks to the resolute stance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the appellate court affirmed the first-instance court decision regarding a 38-year-old resident of Lviv, convicted of intentionally causing severe bodily harm resulting in death, as well as other crimes such as robbery and aggravated assault. The malefactor received a sentence of 15 years in prison.
In July 2021, the criminal attacked a 65-year-old man in the staircase of a building in Lviv, inflicting severe injuries. The victim was a well-known Lviv artist. After the attack, the robber fled, leaving the artist with serious injuries from which he later died in the hospital.
Earlier that same year, the same criminal committed an assault in the Railway District of Lviv, where he beat a man, stole a gold chain and a bag containing personal items. The Lviv Court of Appeals, taking into account all the details of the case, supported the prosecutor’s position and rejected the appeal for a lighter sentence.
