Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, a 36-year-old man was found guilty of inflicting intentional grievous bodily harm that caused the victim’s death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
It was established that in April 2022, in a village of Yavoriv district, a local resident beat his 61-year-old father to death.
Late in the evening, the accused returned home drunk. During a conversation, a dispute arose between the men, during which the defendant began to punch the victim in the head and face.
As a result of these blows, he caused him serious bodily harm.
The victim was hospitalized but died a few days later.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast.
The man will remain in custody until the verdict comes into force.
