Increase in Traffic Accidents Involving Children in Lviv Region
Since the beginning of 2025, 55 road traffic accidents involving children have been registered on the roads of Lviv and the region, 46 of which involved injuries. Unfortunately, as a result of these accidents, one child died, and another 46 children were injured.
Appeals to Parents and Drivers
The police urge parents: remind children of road safety rules. In particular, cross the road only at pedestrian crossings, ensuring there are no cars, and bicycles should be ridden only on bike paths.
Additionally, make sure that the child’s clothing and bicycle have reflective elements – this will make them more visible to drivers in the dark.
And to drivers, the police remind: be especially careful when approaching educational institutions, pedestrian crossings, and intersections, and also adhere to the rules for transporting children.
