
On the evening of September 14, a fatal road accident occurred near the village of Sukhovolia in Zolochiv district, Lviv region. A Citroen C-Crosser SUV overturned, resulting in one fatality and another person hospitalized with injuries.
According to preliminary reports, around 7:00 PM, the 41-year-old driver, a resident of Ternopil region, lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the “Ternopil-Brody” highway and overturned.
As a result of the accident:

A 40-year-old passenger, also from Ternopil region, died at the scene;

Another passenger, aged 29, sustained injuries of varying severity.
Lviv police have launched a criminal investigation under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules leading to a fatality. The driver faces:

3 to 8 years of imprisonment;

and a potential driving ban of up to three years or without such a ban.
The SUV driver has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators are working to establish all the circumstances of the crash.
