
Prosecutors from the Sheptytsky District Prosecutor’s Office proved the guilt of a 45-year-old local resident in court.
The court sentenced him to 3 years and 1 month in prison. He was also banned from holding positions related to the upbringing and education of children, as well as engaging in professional activities that involve access to information resources and the possibility of distributing materials via the Internet, for 3 years.
Investigation found that in April this year, the man sent pornographic photos and videos to a 12-year-old girl via the Viber messenger. In addition, he repeatedly suggested meeting her in person.
The child told friends and her mother, who reported it to the police. Under police supervision, the girl agreed to meet him. When the accused arrived at the agreed place, he was immediately detained.
It was documented that the man also distributed pornographic content to more than 15 women.
His actions were classified under Part 3 of Article 156-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (proposing a meeting to a minor for the purpose of committing indecent acts) and Parts 1, 2 of Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (storage and distribution of pornographic products, committed repeatedly).
Additionally, a decision was made to include information about the man in the Unified Register of Persons Convicted for Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Integrity of a Minor.
He will remain in custody until the sentence becomes legally binding.
Pre-trial investigation – Sheptytsky District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast.
The court’s verdict comes into effect after the expiration of the appeal period.
