According to the public indictment of the Pustomitivska district prosecutor’s office, a previously tried 38-year-old man was found guilty of intentional slight bodily harm, domestic violence and failure to comply with a restraining order (Part 1, Article 125, Article 126-1, Article 390-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced him to 1 year and 2 months of imprisonment.
It was established that the convict lived with his wife and children in one of the villages of the Peremyshlyan territorial community.
For a long time, the husband was unemployed, often abused alcohol and committed domestic violence against his wife.
In particular, the defendant, being previously convicted of domestic violence, caused conflicts for no reason, verbally insulted and humiliated the woman, intimidated, destroyed property and threatened physical violence. During the next conflict, the defendant began to beat the latter, as a result of which he caused minor injuries to the woman.
The district court issued a restraining order for a period of 6 months. According to which the man was temporarily forbidden to communicate with, approach and stay at the woman’s place of residence.
Despite this, the accused continued to visit his ex-wife, verbally abuse her, humiliate and intimidate her.
The man will be in custody until the verdict becomes final.
