Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, the chief state inspector of the Main Directorate of the DPS in the Volyn region was detained.
According to the investigation, the inspector demanded and received an illegal benefit from a representative of one of the LLCs – 1,500 USD and 24,000 UAH.
For the specified amount, the man had to ensure the smooth registration of the tax invoices of this enterprise in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices.
At this time, urgent investigative actions are being conducted in the case. After their completion, the person involved will be notified of the suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court will also decide on the issue of choosing a preventive measure against him in the form of detention and removal from his post.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the investigators of the Technical Department of the SBI, located in the city of Lviv, under the operational support of the USR in the Volyn region of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
