UAH 40,000 in illegal profit for unofficial rental of equipment: the head of a utility company was detained in Lviv Oblast
The operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Lviv region and investigators of the regional police exposed the official’s corrupt activities. According to the police, the head of the utility company – a deputy of the village council of the territorial community of the Lviv district – established a mechanism for leasing special equipment without concluding contracts, and therefore payment to the company’s accounts.
A utility man promised to help one of the entrepreneurs with special equipment for 40,000 hryvnias. The suspect was arrested on Friday, April 21, while receiving part of the illegal profit – 21,600 hryvnias.
Law enforcement officials informed the head of the KP about the suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 368 (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court took him into custody with the right to deposit more than 134,000 hryvnias as bail.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings continues, the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office is in charge of the process.
