Under the procedural leadership of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office, an indictment was sent to the court against a 41-year-old man from Lviv on the facts of taking large amounts of budget funds and official forgery of official documents (part 4 of article 191, part 1, 2 of article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) .
According to the investigation, the accused, being an individual entrepreneur, entered into a subcontract with one of the lyceums of the Zolochiv district. According to the terms of the contract, the defendant had to carry out major repairs to the roof of the educational building.
Later, with the aim of seizing budget funds, the accused issued knowingly false official documents with inflated volumes and costs of the works performed, as well as the technical characteristics of the material used. On the basis of these acts, almost UAH 250,000 was unjustifiably paid to him from the state budget.
At the request of the prosecutor, in order to ensure compensation for damages, the property of the accused was seized in the total amount of about UAH 280,000, and a corresponding civil lawsuit was filed.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the investigators of the Zolochiv Regional Police Department of the Provincial Government of the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
