According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, the man was found guilty of rape of a minor (Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved in court that last April in one of the cities of the Lviv district, the accused raped a 12-year-old girl.
The man lived with his roommate and her four children and often stayed with them in the apartment alone. On that day, when the woman was not at home, two children were playing in the room. Taking advantage of the absence of other family members and the minor’s helpless state, the suspect raped the victim in the presence of her younger sister.
The accused is currently in custody.
The court verdict becomes legally binding after the expiry of the appeal period.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region.
