For the total sum of $10,000, a 29-year-old resident of the Rivne Region provided a conscript with instructions on how to cross the border, after which his accomplices were supposed to transport the “client” to Moldova, bypassing checkpoints. Investigators from the Lviv police, together with operatives from the Office of Strategic Investigations, exposed the offender.
As a result of the joint operation, law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code in Rivne when he received money from the “client”. The pre-trial investigation has concluded, and the indictment has been submitted to the court.
The suspect faces between seven to nine years in prison with the revocation of the right to hold certain positions or conduct certain activities, as well as the confiscation of property, in accordance with part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
