Sambir Resident Sentenced for Shop and Car Theft

A resident of Sambir has been imprisoned for seven years for his actions concerning the robbery of a shop and theft from a police vehicle. Last summer, in one of the shops, the man asked a young girl to help him pack goods, promising to pay for them. Instead, he absconded with the merchandise, which included headphones and smartwatches, bypassing the till.

Later, in December of the same year, the same man stole items from a police service car that was not locked. Among the stolen items were a backpack with a multitool, a helmet, a rubber baton, and other property. The total amount of the damage exceeded 51,000 hryvnias.

During the investigation, it was determined that the resident of Sambir was charged with theft and robbery committed during wartime, under articles 185 and 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Until the verdict becomes legally binding, he will remain in custody, and the verdict will come into force after the completion of the appeal process.
