In the Khmelnytskyi district, a scheme of influence peddling has been uncovered, involving a 56-year-old man and his 44-year-old accomplice. They attempted to illegally enrich themselves by demanding an undue advantage from a conscript.
Upon learning that their acquaintance was wanted in the ‘Oberig’ information system, they offered to resolve the issue for 2,500 US dollars, claiming to have influence over officials at the territorial recruitment and social support centre in Khmelnytskyi region.
Law enforcement officers documented the illegal activity and detained the individuals in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after receiving the agreed sum of money.
