The Lviv Region Police have uncovered an attempt at illegal border crossing. A 64-year-old resident of Novoyavorivsk constructed a hideaway behind the rear seat of a rented Audi, to transport his son to Poland. The son is a serviceman who unlawfully left his military unit in 2025.
Investigators from Police Unit No.2 of the Sheptytsky District Police Department, alongside servicemen from the operational search department of the 7th border Carpathian detachment, under the procedural guidance of the Sheptytsky District Prosecutor’s Office, detected the offender’s activities. He has been charged with an offence under part 1 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
