Meteorologists warn that on 10 October an extreme fire danger of class 5 is expected across most of the area, with a high fire danger of class 4 persisting in places. In the south of the area, a low fire danger of class 2 is forecast.
Under such weather conditions, the likelihood of fires breaking out and spreading rapidly in ecosystems increases sharply if sources of ignition appear, particularly open flames. The public are advised to minimise the burning of dry vegetation and to observe fire safety rules in open areas.
