On Wednesday, 2 September, the municipal enterprise «Drohobychvodokanal» will carry out scheduled repair works on the main water pipeline “Hirne — Drohobych” as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period. Because of this, the supply of water from the Hirnianskyi water intake will be temporarily suspended.
The water supply will be stopped from 05:00 on 2 September until 06:00 on 3 September. During this period, consumers in Drohobych will be left without water on Sportyvna, Truskavetska, Viitivska Hora, Boryslavska, Horishna Brama, M. Hrushevskoho, Stryiska, Volodymyra Velykoho, Budivelna, Naftovykiv streets, in the Mlynky neighbourhood, as well as on Rynok Square and the adjacent streets.
The water supply will also be temporarily cut off in the town of Stebnyk, the villages of Modrychi, Ranevychi, Mykhailovychi, Pochaievychi, Dobrohostiv and Ulychne in Drohobych district, as well as in the villages of Dovholuka, Hirne and Liubyntsi in Stryi district. The neighbourhood around Yevhena Konovaltsia Street in Drohobych will be supplied with water from reservoirs.
After the works are completed and the pumping station is restarted, there may be a temporary increase in turbidity and chlorine content in the water. Residents are advised, once the supply is restored, to open the tap and let a small amount of water run off, and during the first few hours not to drink it unboiled, but only after boiling.
The municipal enterprise “Drohobychvodokanal” asks consumers to make the necessary water reserves in advance and to take the temporary restrictions into account in their daily routines.
