For 16 August, extreme fire danger (class 5) is forecast for Lviv region, and in some mountain areas — high fire danger (class 4).
The meteorological conditions will favour the rapid outbreak and spread of fires in forests and other natural ecosystems where sources of ignition are present, particularly open flames.
There is a separate warning that on 16–17 August across the entire territory of Lviv region and in the city of Lviv, extreme class 5 fire danger is expected to persist.
Residents and visitors to the region are advised to refrain from lighting campfires in forests and parks, not to burn dry vegetation, and to take care not to leave unextinguished cigarette ends or other potential sources of ignition.
